Insect for Illustration Friday
The scarab was personified by Khepri, a sun-god associated with resurrection and new life. The ancient egyptians believed that the scarab beetle came into being of itself from a ball of dung (the idea of self-creation).
We are all in a in the process of creating ourselves and our world in each moment. By consciously creating with mindful awareness, we can let the old ways that no longer serve us or the greater good fall away and, like the beetle who lays its eggs in the dung, allow the pain and the dung of the past fertlize our new growth, our rebirth.
