pandemic healing

pandemic healing

Greetings from inside the covid-19 global pandemic. How are you holding up? Well, I hope! I write to you from my lovely home in Seattle that has become a beautiful ghost town during the pandemic. As always, I am focused on healing, transformation, and self-expression. In addition to taking my own advice and continuing my own healing work, I’m also focused on pandemic healing.

Here are some visual poems I made with that intention.

I hope they bring you some solace. I’ll be making more so check out the playlist on YouTube if you want to stay with up them. I’ll also be updating the pandemic healing page on my website with whatever else comes up during this time. In the Aries New Moon horoscope Chani Nicholas said:

“Aries offers itself to the collective without shame.”

It’s true. We do. It means we aren’t always polished and perfect but we take action. We do the thing. We face the hard stuff and keep going like Jon Snow in Battle of the Bastards. These #artmagic2020 offerings are that. Me offering myself to the collective. Right now. I did that with my fundraiser for single mothers and ended up having some misguided Mickey Mouse report it which stopped my ability to pay the women who need the money. I naturally had receipts and GoFundMe put it right back up so we can still receive donations (hint, hint), and continue to offer support to single mothers working hard to keep things going for their families during this crisis. Trolls have never stopped me and they never will just as this virus will not stop humanity. #WeShallOvercome

Wishing you strength and health, now and always. If you need some tools to keep you going, check out my online course we can do hard things (with ease) or book a transformation coaching session. It’s my joy to help you take compassionate action in your life now and always.

Big love, everyone. We can make it through this! 💖

visual journaling collage

visual journaling surprise

Took a nice walk in the rain with my friend the other day and played with visual journaling at the KEXP Gathering Space. It was fun to spread out magazines and supplies, watch the disco ball (!!) spinning, and watch what came up which was this little visual journaling surprise!

Making fun of capitalism is one of my favorite parts of collaging due to the nature of advertising. There was an ad with a womxn dressed in yoga clothes with a bunch of jewelry on. I still don’t know what the ad was actually for but I got a laugh from my friend a random dude sitting next to us so that was a win for me.

I think this little entry was one of all-time favorite mini-collages. Art-making makes me happy. Fortunately, I’ll be doing even more of it since my daughter got me a bunch of canvases for the Solstice and I won $100 from Dick Blick! My order will arrive next week. SQUEE! 🦄✨

What about you? Making any art in 2020? Drop a comment below. I’d love to hear about it.

staying with the flow

staying with the flow

Today’s love note is all about staying with the flow of the river of life. I almost said “in the flow” but that’s a given. We’re in the flow whether we like it or not. When we stay with it though, it’s much nicer. Have a listen! The tea I’m sipping on in the recording is Creamy Earl Grey from Marketspice. No affiliate thing. Just yummy so I’m sharing. There is, of course, a wee song (that I forget the lyrics to, my trademark apparently).

I’ve brought these weekly recordings back to the blog for everyone because I didn’t like the way it the Patreon integration looked and too many bells and whistles slows down my site. Also, it’s fun that Google is picking these up at “podcasts”. If people benefit from them, that’s fabulous.

Have you signed up for my newsletter yet? Every Tuesday, I put forth interestingness, news and sometimes free gifts. It’s the best way to stay connected to my work in these digitally shifting times. Thanks for being here.

I happily accept and invite donations to support my work if you are so moved. 💖

learning my worth

learning how to find my worth

Please allow me to introduce your heart to day eight of the daily delish: learning how to find my worth. In today’s audio love note , I talk about learning how to find my worth as a womxn and caregiver despite the challenges and how I’m overcoming them. I also sing you a song, naturally. EnJOY!

I realize I got the quote from Maya Angelou wrong in the audio. She said, “Nothing will work unless you do.” Here’s her wonderful poem, “Phenomenal Woman” which seems very apropos:

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

how to drop perfection

how to add value by dropping perfection

Please allow me to introduce your heart to day six of the daily delish: how to add value by dropping perfection. In today’s audio love note , I discuss this article from wise woman Marion Woodman and why the amazing content from Tim Ferriss adds more value than opinions about his beanie and of course, a wee song. This one is extra floaty because I just got out of the shower. EnJOY!

Today, a friend who has been listening to the daily delish asked where he could find all the episodes and if he could share. The answers are 1.) here is the page and 2.) YES PLEASE! You’re always welcome to share my work with attribution. I’m grateful.
