I started writing something today but it was too close to the bone so I made this instead.
I ran across this quote today and it perfectly sums up what I’ve been experiencing as I’ve been making some form of art everyday in October. Pure vitality at a time when I needed it.
“Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.” ~Kurt Vonnegut
I spent much of the day writing this newsletter about the outrageously inspiring experience I had at the Hull-House Museum in Chicago. It felt good to end the day with images and sounds.
A Blessing
May your creations bring you whatever you most need, dear reader.
