you don't need to say anything
This morning on the bus, I was running my hands through my daughter’s golden tresses and started giving her a scalp massage. As she relaxed, I said, “Mmmm…this is luxury. This is luxurious like–
delicious dark chocolate,
puppy breath,
a spring rain,
velvet on my skin,
the sun kissing my shoulders at the beach,
red wine from Argentina,
or burying my nose in rose petals.”
She looked at me and said, “I don’t know what to say to that.”
I replied, “You don’t have to say anything.”
“I was hoping you would say that,” was her adorable response.
It feels good to just receive love wordlessly and let it work it’s magic on our heart.
